Sadly, lambing season is over and we would like to thank all those who came to visit us this Spring. As always, we very much appreciated all your kind comments about our farm and the way we look after our livestock.
We were truly blessed with lovely weather. It was perfect for the lambs when they went out into the fields. With lambing finished, we are now shearing the sheep and cleaning the sheds ready for our turkey poults, which will arrive in July.
We have also finished calving our Red Poll cows and have some lovely calves enjoying the warm weather.
We plough the fields and scatter the good seed . . .
For most people, the wet weather can be very frustrating, particularly when BBQ season gets underway.
However, for the farming communities the recent spate of rain has been most welcome, following one of the driest Spring seasons that we can remember. Our crops are growing well and harvest will soon be upon us.
We’ll update you on our crop yields in the next issue…
